The car is not merely a machine used to get us from one place to another. The relationships people share with their cars mimic those of which they share with other humans. The car, as an entity, has influenced my understanding of the world. It's been a crucial part of the narrative that is my life. You could say it has always been there, but what would be more certain, would be to say that it always will be.
